Description
This Air Fryer Deli Chicken Cordon Bleu is a crispy, flavorful, and easy-to-make dish that combines deli turkey, Swiss cheese, and seasoned breadcrumbs for a deliciously crunchy texture. Perfect for a quick yet gourmet dinner!
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (preferably thinly sliced)
- 4 thin slices of deli turkey
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese (or Gruyère for a richer flavor)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 ½ cups of panko or Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (to taste)
- Olive oil spray (for coating the chicken)
Instructions
-
Prepare the chicken: Place each chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound gently with a meat mallet or rolling pin until evenly thin.
-
Season: Sprinkle both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
-
Assemble: Lay each chicken breast on a cutting board. Place one slice of turkey and one slice of cheese on top. Carefully roll up the chicken, securing with toothpicks if necessary.
-
Breading: Coat each chicken roll in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs to ensure an even coating.
-
Preheat the air fryer: Set to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for 5 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with olive oil.
-
Cooking: Place the chicken rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8 minutes, flip using tongs, and cook for another 7 minutes. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
-
Serve: Slice into medallions or serve whole. Garnish with chopped parsley or a sprinkle of paprika for extra presentation.
Notes
- For extra crunch, cook for an additional 2 minutes, but be careful not to dry out the chicken.
- Pair with a garden salad, steamed vegetables, or a light pasta dish.
- A squeeze of lemon juice or a creamy mustard sauce enhances the flavor beautifully.
