Instructions

Melt the Butter
- Place your saucepan over low heat. Add the butter and let it melt slowly. If using a microwave, place the butter in a large bowl and microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted.

Add the Marshmallows
- Keep the heat on low. Stir in 4 cups of mini marshmallows and gently mix until almost melted. Stir constantly to avoid burning.

Incorporate Chocolate and Cocoa
- Once the marshmallows are nearly melted, add ½ cup of chocolate chips and the cocoa powder (if using). Stir slowly until fully combined.

Add Flavor Enhancers
- Stir in the vanilla extract and pinch of salt. These help balance out the sweetness.

Combine with Rice Krispies
- Remove the saucepan from heat and pour in all 6 cups of Rice Krispies. Stir well. If you reserved extra mini marshmallows, fold them in now along with the remaining ½ cup of chocolate chips.

- Prepare a 9×13-inch pan by lining it with parchment paper or spraying with non-stick spray. Scoop the mixture into the pan and gently press into an even layer.

Cool and Set
- Let the treats sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes, or chill in the fridge for 20 minutes for faster setting. Cut into squares or rectangles and enjoy!

- To keep treats fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
