Description

This Baked Cream Cheese Custard is a rich and creamy, carnivore-friendly dessert with simple ingredients. Perfect for those on a low-carb diet, it’s an easy treat that feels indulgent while staying within dietary guidelines.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Firstly, preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Afterward, lightly grease a baking dish or ramekins.
  2. Blend Ingredients: In a blender, combine the softened cream cheese, eggs, heavy cream, sweetener (if using), vanilla extract, and salt. Then blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into Dishes: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish or ramekins, filling them about three-quarters full. However, leave some space at the top.
  4. Bake in Water Bath: Place the baking dish/ramekins in a larger pan. Pour hot water into the larger pan until it reaches halfway up the sides of the custard dish. Therefore, this will help the custard bake evenly.
  5. Bake: Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the custard is set around the edges but still slightly wobbly in the center. Moreover, the center may still jiggle.
  6. Cool and Chill: Remove from the oven and allow the custard to cool on a wire rack. Eventually, chill in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving. Finally, this will allow it to set completely.
  7. Serve: Serve chilled. Therefore, now you have a delicious carnivore-friendly dessert to enjoy.

Notes

  • If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the custard mixture before pouring it into the dish.
  • For a more indulgent experience, top with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  • This dessert can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
