    • 1 packet taco seasoning
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1/2 cup salsa
    • 1 package (about 20) egg roll wrappers
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • Vegetable oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Cook the Meat:
    Brown the ground beef or turkey in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.

  2. Add Seasoning:
    Stir in the taco seasoning and cook according to package directions.

  3. Combine Filling:
    Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and salsa.

  4. Prepare Egg Roll Wrappers:
    Place an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface. Put about 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture in the center of the wrapper.

  5. Fold Egg Rolls:
    Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling. Fold the two side corners in toward the center. Finally, roll it up tightly. Brush the top edge with beaten egg to seal.

  6. Fry Egg Rolls:
    Heat about 1-2 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place a few egg rolls in the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.

  7. Cook Until Golden:
    Fry the egg rolls for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  8. Drain and Serve:
    Remove the cooked egg rolls from the oil and place them on a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to drain. Serve hot, with your choice of delicious sides.

  • For extra crunch, try baking the egg rolls at 400°F (200°C) for about 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
